FEATI Opens 2010 With “BLUE+GOLD=GREEN: a fashion show for a greener environment”

FEATI University's opening salvo for 2010 proved to be a landmark event as students and guests lined up for the "BLUE+GOLD=GREEN: a fashion show for a greener environment" held at the FEATI Bridgepoint building in Sta. Cruz. Manila on January 26.

Eye-catching designs by the University's School of Fine Arts students and faculty as well as by invited designers strutted on the catwalk. Lasting for more than three hours, guests witnessed a parade of ten collections ranging from kitsch, gothic, vaudeville, avant-garde and green fashion. On this cool evening, the crowd warmed up to a spectacle “where art encountered life—and triumphed”.

Featured designers include FEATI School of Fine Arts Associate Dean Janice Young; FEATI Faculty members Neil Dela Cruz, Jonathan Rañola and Joseph Villamar; Fine Arts students JR Ibarbia, John Nigel Manuel, Abby Quinto, Vincent Borra, Marilou Solano, Michelle Ballesteros, Reginald Belandres, Georjanno Abenoja, Lemuel Cabrillas, and Ruel Francia; and guest designers Russelle Tomas and Nikki Veneracion.

FEATI President Dr.-Ing. Adolfo Jesus R. Gopez welcomed the guests that included officials of the fashion show's beneficiary, ABS-CBN Foundation Inc.'s Bantay Kalikasan. Spotted were Mr. Eduardo David C. Pardo, La Mesa Ecopark Administrator and Ms. Darryn Castillo, Bantay Kalikasan Senior Resource Mobilization Officer.

Guests were treated to performances from the FEATI Chorale, FEATI Dance Troupe, Bulacan-based hip-hop crew Subsonic Tribe and live bands Blue Ketchup, Never Been Better, Tutti and Talata.
