Lufthansa Technical Training Philippines and FEATI University team up for Training Facility: another first for the university.

Things are definitely looking up for the aviation and engineering students of FEATI University. Lufthansa Technical Training Philippines (LTTP), an aviation company founded in the year 2000 as a joint venture of Lufthansa Technik AG and Philippine aviation service provider MacroAsia Corporation, is now FEATI University’s newest partner via the inauguration of the FEATI Technical Training Facility for the LTTP EASA Part 66 Program for the Aircraft Maintenance Technician Course (Cat A) on February 28, 2013 at 3:15 pm, which shall be attended by CEOs of major aviation training organizations, aviation maintenance organizations, airlines, diplomats from selected countries, and select government officials. The facility is located at the 6th Floor of FEATI University Building 3A.

The said course is the first partnership between a University (FEATI University) and Lufthansa Technical Training in Asia to offer courseware and certification exams for Aircraft Maintenance Technicians (Category A) whose graduates are qualified to work internationally under the rules of EASA (European Air Safety Agency) Part 66 license certification.

LTTP is also the training facility of Lufthansa Technik Philippines, and offers a wide range of aircraft maintenance, repair and overhaul (MRO) services to customers worldwide.

The company, LTTP, which employs over 2,800 people, heavily focuses on base maintenance checks for the A319/A320 and A330/A340 types of aircraft. Seven hangar bays and workshops have been upgraded to the latest industry standards to support aircraft maintenance, major modifications, cabin reconfigurations, engine maintenance and painting for A319/A320, A330/A340, A380, B747-400 and B777 aircraft. A new wide-body hangar was recently added to meet the increasing demand for A330/A340 and A380 base maintenance checks.

Another “first” has been added to the list of many other “firsts” of FEATI University, a legacy of the first airline to be established in the country after World War II. (AMD)
