Ma. Elaine I. Elago, FEATInian Beauty Flies High in Miss Aviation Philippines 2015!

Elaine, FEATI University’s candidate, conducted herself in effervescent style and displayed inspired grace under pressure at the Ms. Aviation Philippines 2015 Coronation Night held very recently at the Rigodon Ballroom of the Manila Peninsula. It was an evening where women of aviation showed that they were more than just pretty faces. As expected our candidate’s hard work (that included months of getting in shape, healthy eating, catching up on the latest news and traveling to event commitments) earned her a well-deserved place in the Top Eight of the finals while taking home the award for Miss Personality.

For those who have yet to meet Elaine, here’s a bit of her story: She was a Dońa Victoria scholar, graduating Cum Laude with a Bachelor of Science degree in Aeronautical Engineering batch 2012.

This FEATI alumna is an Aircraft Structures Engineer at Lufthansa Technik Philippines and is on her way to becoming the first Aeronautical Engineer in the Philippines to be included in the Design Organization of Lufthansa (EASA Part 21J) as a Design Engineer. In 2014, Elaine was sent by Lufthansa Technik Philippines to Hamburg, Germany for courses leading to a career as a design engineer. Previous to that, Lufthansa also sent Elaine to Airbus Toulouse, France to take a course in Aircraft Metallic Structures Engineering. She is now back here at home completing other training critical to her goal of becoming a certified design engineer.

Elaine is thrilled to have represented FEATI University in the freshly-revived pageant. She says, “First, going to college was not easy for me financially. It was FEATI University who acknowledged my potential and granted me a scholarship to finish Aeronautical Engineering. It was my pleasure to represent FEATI and give back to my university what they have given to me…quality education that prepared me for the aviation industry. The event also became an opportunity for me to inspire women to give this career a go.” Congratulations, Elaine.

You are truly one of the best to come out of FEATIU. (AMD)
