Welcome FEATInians Week: All systems go for “The Great FEATI Experience!”

July 7-11, 2014 was a week of non-stop action for the freshmen and returning students at FEATI University. Organized by the Events & Promotions in coordination with the Office of Student Affairs, the activities began with a treat at the University gate. Each freshman and transferee received a Welcome Kit which detailed the games, mechanics, and activities that were relevant to starting their academics at the University. This University tradition was, as usual, an ideal blend of fun, games, and a detailed introduction to the 68-year old FEATI way of life synonymous to “the Great FEATI Experience!”---rich history, noteworthy achievements, important milestones, and the men and women, key officials and management all, who are in charge of their wards for the next four to five years.

The culmination of the weeklong affair was a formal orientation program held on July 11, 2014. FEATI University, with a strong Catholic tradition, holds a Holy Mass as Doxology prior to the singing of the Philippine National Anthem. Emcee and IT Faculty Member Glenn Saño, a holder of two degrees from FEATIU, made sure everything went smoothly from start to finish.
Dr. Leopoldo V. Abis, EVP for Academic Affairs delivered Welcome Remarks and talked about the University’s Mission-Vision and Core Values. A specially-prepared “The Great FEATI Experience!” presentation came after.

To drive home the message of the campaign, Marilou Caño Bernarte, cum laude graduate of Mass Communication Class of 2014, shared her personal FEATI University journey, from academics, to co-curricular activities and her experiences during on the job training (OJT) and linkages with industry.

Marilou was followed by FEATI president Dr.-Ing. Adolfo Jesus R. Gopez who, aside from giving the parents and students present some insights on the continuous improvement of facilities, Accreditation of programs, and factors affecting suspension of classes, had the honor of introducing University officials, deans, department chairs and unit heads, all of whom shared a passion for excellent service to students in the name of education.

Ms. Mercedes Duterte, OIC-Director of the Office of Student Affairs discussed duly-recognized and legitimate student organizations and house rules that will ensure a pleasant, comfortable, and productive stay at University.

Students who had questions about on-the-job training, internships, and employment opportunities were given a rundown of industry partners and slots for AY 2014-2015 by Ms. Natividad “Teng” C. Ladip of the Student Assistance Services Office (SASO).

The program also made room for performances from the FEATI Chorale, a pep rally in preparation for FEATI University Seahawks’ game come August 6, 2014 during Opening Ceremony of Season 6 of the Inter-Scholastic Athletic Association (ISAA), an introduction to the bemedalled and trophy-accumulating Seahawks varsity basketball and volleyball teams, a tour of the University, more games, snacks, and in the late afternoon, a workout session of the FEATIU Corporate Wellness Program. Students and parents alike were included in the program.

Another Welcome FEATInians Week over, a full year of shaping boys and girls into mature and capable men and women.
Batch 2014-2015, welcome to “The Great FEATI Experience!” (AMD)
