"Balik - Tanaw: Images from Philippine Culture"

FEATI University School of Fine Arts and the FEATI Art Group will hold an exhibit entitled "Balik - Tanaw: Images of Philippine Culture" featuring the works of SFA Head Janice Young, and SFA Faculty Members Aner Sebastian and Joseph Villamar, rendered in expressionistic styles that highlight portraits and images depicting Filipino traditions, values and its rich culture. The show will also feature the works of other FEATI faculty members like Neil de la Cruz, Marge Babon, Emma Adarayan and Raj Busmente; students Marcial Niebres Jr., Gringo Fajardo, Jeffrey dela Paz, Gregg Nono Guleserian and Nemo Aguila; as well as FEATI SFA friends Xavier Abelador. Tope Crisostomo and Jamel Obnamia. The exhibit features the diverse use of media such as oil, acrylic, pen and ink, and watercolor that capture serene landscape, surreal representations of Filipino culture and subjects focused on human interest and portraits. Balik - Tanaw opens on August 18 at 5 p.m.and will run until September 18 at Galeria de las islas, 3rd floor Silahis Center, 744 Gen, Luna St. Intramuros, Manila. (SFA)
