FEATI Seahawks clinches first win at ISAA opening

FEATI Seahawks Coach Louie Gonzalez was grinning from ear to ear after the pomp and pageantry of the opening ceremony last August 2, 2011 of the 3rd Season of the Inter-Scholastic Athletic Association (ISAA) at the Ninoy Aquino Stadium. The FEATI Seahawks scored hugely and came out on top after their first game against Manila Adventist Medical Center and Colleges (MAMCC). Final score: 98 (FEATI) vs. 44 (MAMCC)
.
"Our first win this season is the result of hard training and dedication. We really wanted to make a strong impression very early into the season. We know this is just the beginning as we are up against equally disciplined and passionate basketball teams from ISAA-member schools such as La Consolacion College Manila, Manila Tytana Colleges, St. Dominic College of Asia, and Technological Institute of the Philippines. I tell the Seahawks that we need to train more aggressively if we want to take home the championship trophy this year. Anything is possible if we play with heart and soul. I believe we can do it!" says Coach Louie.

He continues, "It really helped a lot that NBA Miami Heat head coach Erik Spoelstra and his coaching staff came to the ISAA opening ceremony to give all-out support for the league and thrill basketball fans with their mere presence. Coach Spoelstra had a full schedule on his two-week stop here in Manila but that did not stop him from showing up to the ISAA opening ceremony. His impact on the team was immediately apparent. The man was inspiring. I think the Seahawks were deeply impressed by such an accomplished man in their midst such that they gave the first game of the season their one hundred percent. I believe the best is yet to come for the Seahawks but we have to be careful about our turnovers while taking full advantage of our field goals, rebounds, and second chances."

Aside from the FEATI University Seahawks, La Consolacion College Manila, Technological Institute of the Philippines, Manila Tytana Colleges, and St. Dominic College of Asia saw action in a fierce battle for basketball supremacy.

FEATI'S pride will also go for the plum in Volleyball as they strive to repeat their awesome feat in last season's games. This time, it's FEATI University Volleyball Head Coach Christopher "Shoks" Anore who will be pushing for the team to rule all the way to the finals.

The 2011-2012 FEATI Seahawks are committed to give their all in their respective events with the guidance of their coaches, Louie and Shoks, and, of course, the unabashed slam-dunk support of the FEATI community. (AMD)
