FEATI University and Jollibee Plant More SEEDS for 5 More Years

Life may be hard, but deserving students of FEATI University have one more reason to heave a sigh of relief. The SEEDS program between FEATI and Jollibee Foods Corporation (JFC) has now been extended to five more years.

SEEDS or Skills Enhancement and Education Development for Students, is Jollibee program that looks at education as a means to employment and thus as a way out of poverty. FEATI University and Jollibee Foods Corporation (JFC), under the guidelines set by the Department of Labor and Employment (DOLE), embarked on a mission to extend financial assistance in the form of interest-free tuition loans to people whose dream it is to have a college diploma, their passport to a better life.

FEATI University started implementing the Jollibee SEEDS program in 2009. It has been well-received by the student-beneficiaries because the terms and conditions of the program were well-grounded in reality by the implementers who understood what the students needed and what they could realistically expect from them in return. The reason why the SEEDS program took root in the hearts of participating FEATI students was that, aside from the opportunity to continue studying, they were also being prepared for real life through hands-on store training and seminars provided by Jollibee and JFC-affiliated companies. These skills-enhancement activities prepare the students for employability and actually make them fit better with the job market. For the students, this approach exposes them to the working environment away from the protective cocoon of the university.

With the extension of the SEEDS program, more FEATI students can now be certain of completing their favored course and have a well-rounded training cum work exposure to boot.

Interested FEATI students are encouraged to see Ms. Teng C. Ladip, Student Assistance Services Officer of FEATI University for details relevant to application and screening process for the SEEDS program. (AMD)
