FEATI University and 6 other ISAA Universities make season 6 ‘Simply Amaze 6!’

The Inter-Scholastic Athletic Association (ISAA) sixth season, “Amaze 6!” opened amidst thunderous and rafter-shaking applause from the students of FEATI University (official team: FEATI Seahawks), La Consolacion College Manila (official team: LCCM Blue Royals), Manila Adventist College (official team: Soaring Angels), Manila Tytana Colleges (official team: MTC Titans), Philippine Merchant Marine School (official team: PMMS Mariners), Philippine Women’s University (official team: PWU Patriots), and the St. Dominic College of Asia (official team: SDCA Pikemen). It was apparent upon the arrival of very special guests Philippine Star sports columnist and TV commentator Joaquin “Quinito” Henson (@TheDeanQuinito) and PBA’s “The Prince” and now assistant coach of Adamson University’s Soaring Falcons Vince Hizon (@VinceHizon12) that this latest season, hosted by St. Dominic College of Asia, would be bigger in terms of scope and presentation. Sponsors Pocari Sweat, Sun Cellular, Sophie Paris, Abot Kaya, and Child’s Play Photography gave their hundred percent in supporting the season’s opening events at the Cuneta Astrodome. Dr. Gregorio A. Andaman, Jr. president of season 6 host St. Dominic College of Asia spared no expense in making sure the opening was something to remember. The school’s Tagintinig led the way with well-choreographed numbers followed by FEATI University and Manila Tytana Colleges. This season’s Ms. ISAA 2014 went to the muse from St. Dominic College of Asia who won the crowd and judges over with her confidence, charm, and captivating smile. Her court included the muses from Manila Tytana Colleges (1st runner-up) and Philippine Merchant Marine School (2nd runner-up).

The ISAA governing body, university officials, athletes, muses, and supporters were all present for the morning festivities as well as the basketball games. Declaring the games open was Ms. Melanie P. Florentino, current ISAA President and Events, Alumni Affairs and Sports Dev’t. Director of FEATI University. Quinito Henson and Vince Hizon led the Ceremonial Toss.

The first games of the season were nail-biting-heart-clutching wall-to-wall defense. The strapping young athletes of the PMMS Mariners won over the SDCA Pikemen in Game 1 and passionate-never-say-die FEATI University Seahawks snatched the crucial point in a close fight versus the MTC Titans in Game 2.
This season continues with competitions in basketball, volleyball, table tennis, and swimming. Spotlight is on the athletes of the member schools who are expected to give their best in the hopes of amassing gold, silver, bronze trophies and medals in the name of school pride. The scrimmage is definitely on! (AMD)
