FEATI IT Faculty Members attend Professional IT Training Seminars
FEATI University IT Department Faculty Members Leonila Beroy and Norman Guiao attended the Java Boot Camp Seminar and Agile Analysis Proficiency Training Seminar conducted by Orange and Bronze from April 19 to May 17, 2010 at CJV Bldg. 108 Aguirre St., Legazpi Village, Makati City.
Beroy and Guiao said that while the seminars were educational and informative, they were also fun and creative because of the instructional materials utilized. They “learned things that could only be acquired through experience and from the close observation of IT industry related practices”.
“I found the Java Boot Camp very challenging not only because of its topic but also because of the very experienced and highly discerning trainer, who was very particular about the details of our output. Beyond the basics, I learned how to do Java programming with the best practices in industry as my guide.” said Beroy.
On the other hand, Guiao considers the Agile Analysis Proficiency Training Seminar as his “eye-opener”, allowing him to determine the differences between academe and industry as far as their approaches in creating projects that are tailor-fit to the needs of the clients.
Both faculty members completed and passed the training seminars and received their certificates of completion on May 31, 2010. They also received symbolic tokens from Orange and Bronze. (JLF)
