FEATI University Dean Emeritus Marzan gets the Dean Alfredo L. Juinio Lifetime Distinguished Achievement Award from the U.P. College of Engineering

The U.P. College of Engineering, during its 2010 Graduation ceremonies, awarded the Dean Alfredo L. Juinio Lifetime Achievement Award to Dr. Genaro T. Marzan, Dean Emeritus of FEATI University. Co-sponsored by the UP Engineering Research and Development Foundation Inc., the Juinio Award is given to a retired U.P. College of Engineering Faculty Member for his lifetime achievements in teaching and education. Dr. Leonardo Q. Liongson and Dean Rowena L. Guevarra presented the award to Dr. Marzan on April 24, 2010 at the University Theater on the occasion of the graduation of Batch 2010 of the U.P. College of Engineering. Dr. Marzan is an alumnus of the College, having earned his B.S. in Geodetic Engineering in 1951.

The citation for the 2010 Juinio Award reads as follows:

“The award is given to Dr. Genaro T. Marzan.”

“Dr. Marzan is a professional geodetic engineer, a world renowned photogrammetrist, educator and public servant. His outstanding achievements in Cartography and Photogrammetry through more than thirty years of research and pioneering leadership have resulted in the widespread application of the sciences throughout the country. He was instrumental in the creation of the National Cartography Authority which later became the National Mapping and Resource Information Authority, the central mapping agency of the country today. He has received numerous awards in recognition of his outstanding achievements in his field of expertise. He has served the University of the Philippines as Vice Chancellor for Community Affairs, faculty member and Chairman of the Department of Geodetic Engineering and Director of the Training Center for Applied Geodesy and Photogrammetry.”

Dr. Marzan continues to be connected to FEATI University as a Consultant and as Officer-in-Charge of the Department of Geodetic Engineering.
